The County Seat Grimmen
The Northwestern Pomeranian county seat of Grimmen, first mentioned in 1267, was the location which offered a favourable crossing point through extensive marshlands and the river Trebel, and thus was ideal for settlement in the midst of this beautiful area.

Franzburg
During the 12th and 13th centuries, this then desolate and almost deserted region belonged to the continental part of the principality of Rügen. It was thus that in 1231, the Cistercian Order was granted permission by Prince Wizlaw l of Rügen to build a monastery in this location.

Stadt Richtenberg
The small town of Richtenberg lies in the Pomeranian plains, nestled between the lowlands of the river Trebel, the Richtenberg Lake and the Schuenhagener and Abtshagener forests.
Ahrenshagen-Daskow
What is of particular interest for tourists is a visit to the village of Pantlitz. Between 1867 and 1869, the old dilapidated timber-framed church was replaced by a brick Neo-Gothic structure, designed by Ernst von Hasselberg the master builder from Stralsund.
Villages Schlemmin and Semlow
An ancient linden-lined avenue connects the villages of Schlemmin and Semlow with their respective castles; both have wonderful park gardens and ponds. The park in Semlow also has a collection of prehistoric trough mills and a large stone grave.
